Audition CS6 Flash Video

hi,

 

today downloaded audition cs6 trial. have used cs5 while back, use ableton these days. however, thought i'd give audition whirl. following tutorial try out, came video clip ( lynda.com - audition cs6 essential training - 02 03. importing video files).

 

i found avi files loading audio , flash video files reported either corrupt (incorrectly) or unsupported. after investigation (prompted error message) followed adobe comment in regard "to enable following formats, select enable dlms format support in media & disk cache preferences. (this option off default maximum performance.) avi/flv/r3d/swf/wmv". allowed me load .f4v flash video files, still gave corrupt/unsupported error (without suggesting setting set of course) when attempting .flv files. files in question work fine in several video players have on machine.

 

the noticeable difference in file heaqders (binary) follows:

[f4v - working]     hex: 00 00 00 1c 66 74 79 70 6d 70 34 32 text: .....ftypmp42

[flv not working] hex: 46 4c 56 01 05 00 00 00 09 00 00  00 text: flv.........

 

therefore, appear different versions of flash video - f4v mp4, whereas flv flash video (video/x-flv).

 

adobe states here : http://helpx.adobe.com/audition/using/supported-file-formats.html#video_file_formats flv supported (mp4 supported in cs5 believe anyway).

 

so, question is...does audition cs6 support flv (aka flash video) - or adobe suffixed mp4 files? (if so, how to?)

 

the test machine windows 7 ultimate 64 (running both asio , mme). au cache on second drive. 4gb ram (ddr2) quad processor 3.8ghz, planty of hdd space.

 

i teacher based in asia, (the school) not have lot of money throw - machine high spec, not have apple hardware here, has windows [i have educator/school adobe account id, go route if @ all]. controller not connected/no midi or digital sound devices (other sound card) attached. test videos f4v file lydia , youtube download of blondie, call me (although tried other .flv's in case of corruption - , play on vlc/adobe player/windows media player, unlikely).

 

sorry if has been mentioned before - did look, find mention of setting set mentioned above (and did restart au after changing - , did check still set on reload). other comments related premiere pro (which not on machine - neither either of flash builders - flash player 10.3 think 11 causing cpu issues while video streaming).
