Category Dropdown List ordering in New Article, Joomla 2.5 - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

good afternoon all. there way order category list alphabetically in dropdown on new/edit article page in 2.5? defaults sorting id new categories being entered daily , quite large list, impractical. in 1.5 done changing ordering in controller.php (administrator/components/com_content) - change: "order s.ordering, cc.ordering" into: "order cc.title".

however, no longer appears in 2.5 controller.php file , can't find obvious ordering elsewhere in com_content anywhere.

any advice?

does no 1 know this? 320 views , no response. seems me illogical have unsorted lists. humans can not make head nor tale of large unsorted lists, , sorting on hidden id field rather pointless. articles in joomla can sorted date , title, why not categories?

what needs sorted alphabetically "list categories" menu item. lists categories id no option sort alphabetically. affects user too, not administrators of site. going page lists categories numbering on 50 unsorted makes impossible find looking without scanning each line 1 one until find it.

i have found plenty of unanswered questions regarding through google not alone in questioning this, , 320 views of question in few hours tells me people interested in problem.

at moment going have migrate 1.5 joomla site different platform because in 1.5 cant in 2.5 , site end functioning poor downgraded cousin original.
