edit: firefox, chrome , ie used. doesn't seem browser issue.

edit2: well, tracked issue 1 line in session handling includes, commented out. noticed there default php seems save files /tmp , it's write protected according phpinfo. i'll send email host asking can it, turn on.

im answering own post since resolved myself.

joomla sets sessions handler "files" , path save session files set blank, defaulted path webserver had no rights write (/tmp perhaps).

i first uncommented line sets sessions handler "files", php defaulted hosts setting use memcache.

but since think there reason "files" forced in joomla, put under line in /library/joomla/session/session.php says ini_set('session.save_handler', 'files'); setting of path ini_set('session.save_path', '/home/web4673/tmp/'); since temp folder apache can write (apache2 handler php used , not cgi) , not exposed webserver.

fixed right away.
