Saving a book as PDF takes significantly more time when the file binary *.fm rater than *.mif?
is possible, saving book (with framemaker 10) pdf takes more time when file formatted in binary *.fm rather *.mif format?
we have books (+160p) take 20 min saved pdf, whereas same book in mif format can saved pdf within 4 minutes. known issue?
or problem our books?
does know how speed process (how tweak) or there special adjustments in books or documents might slowdown process of saving them pdf?
the distiller seems not problem. distiller takes equally long both formats.
best regards
strikes me peculiar. expect fm rendering data structures in memory, expect identical whether opened .fm or .mif.
if return-to-ui time important, fastest path is:
print local .ps file
distill separately.
and sounds have full acrobat product, , have full distiller.
i don't have sufficient experience print-to-pdf vs. save-as-pdf opine on potential time differences paths.
