Thread: Gnome3

howdy!

sorry if has been covered before, don't think can find it, , feel free send me google.

running ubuntu 11.04 on 1201n asus eeepc, , using gnome2 (ubuntu classic(no effects )) , try gnome3.

however, read somewhere installing might break system, or replace gnome2.

how can accomplish that?

in advance

did somehow uninstall unity 11.04, or did start in fallback mode (gnome2) when first installed it? if automatically put in fallback mode, means machine can't handle unity, , won't handle gnome3 either.

if machine can handle it, can install gnome3, there possibility doing break unity , make unstable. if don't care unity, suppose that's fine since using gnome3 anyway. if don't have unity, don't foresee being out of control given proper installation. replacing gnome2, i'm not sure.

if can, live cd of fedora core 15, has gnome3 , try out. i've never had experience gnome3 installation in ubuntu, @ least show of things gnome3 (i find fantastic, bias fedora).

if find it, here guide show how running on system.
