Thread: Is my Ububtu 10.4.2 LTS LiveCD using my hard drive for a swap file?

i concerned livecd touching hdd @ all. factor, such using hdd space swap file? thought whole thing ran off ram.

anyway here's specs:

macbook pro 500gb:
hfs+ partition w/snow leaopard ~400gb
ntfs parition windows 7 ~100gb
efi partition ~200mb

1) mean have "swap file" on there don't know about? assume both windows , osx use virtual memory manage ram when running in respective operating systems mean ubuntu livecd use 1 of winows or osx partition's "swap file"?

2) or there invisiable partition created livecd use on unallocated space on hdd (i don't think there's idunno)?

3) how can sure livecd not writing data hdd? don't believe have ever explicitly created swap file in either osx or windows.

thanks!

if running live cd not saving hd. live cd runs totally in ram.
