Thread: Ubuntu on macbook pro does it worthit?
hello there,
i've been thinking in retire current laptop , buy new one...
been searching market , found macbook pro nice laptop, main specs attracted me aluminium case, long lasting battery...
since i'm huge fan of linux, , i'm dependent of work, question have ask is, run nicely ubuntu or debian? keep battery last 8 - 10 hours? functionalities lose?
check out page macbook pro 8.1 here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/macbookpro8-1/natty macbooks if want use / dual-boot os-x. if going use linux may want consider pc laptop comparable hardware macbook pro. in case there no real advantage apple hardware on priced pc laptop. btw according community documentation, current generation of macbook pros 3.5-4.5 hours of battery life in ubuntu. means on par priced elitebook or thinkpad.
