Thread: Weird temperature readings from lm_sensors
i've got clevo w150hnq, running xubuntu natty, core i7-2720qm processor.
i'm letting gmusicbrowser replaygain analysis on music, , while it's doing that, i'm getting weird temperature readings.
gmb not multi-threading rg analysis, it's showing 12.5% cpu time gmb in conky (which correct, xubuntu sees 8 cores hyper-threading)
temperature in mid-40's normal processes, , wavering between 50-60c gmb doing analysis. spikes 97c. can't figure 1 out, because air coming out not hotter @ 50c. plus don't have os-control of fan yet, bios still controlling fan, , it's not speeding up.
it's hitting 97c level while having large fan pointing straight @ it.
lm_sensors gives me 5 different readings, assume each individual core, plus discreet nvidia card, , of them going on 90c when overall reading (as provdided byobu) reads 97c.
i've run mersenne torture test, , had 4 cores plus 4 hyper-threads maxed-out according htop, , temps leveled out around 80c.
laptop not getting hot, i'm left wondering in hell it's getting it's readings from.
got ideas?
don't mean necro thread i'm getting pretty unbelievable readings temps on clevo 170whr (basically, same model same proc). when launch in optirun temps go high 80's or 90 even. fan spins , air warm laptop not hot touch nor air hot. other way test temps this? beginning doubt them. thanks,
