Please Help!

hello all.

 

i have pdf document needs several things want it, not sure how make happen.

 

let me first describe document. it's scanned repair manual classic car. page sizes irregular appear on screen, 10 x 15. strange thing pages there print and/or images of parts, procedures etc. on half of page, situated on left hand side. when printed out first time on 8.5 x 11 got shrunken version of on screen, full size transferred smaller sheet. i'm not sure why original paper document printed way or why person scanned pdf didnt crop it, thats main issue need assistance correcting. intend use manual in both printed form , more user friendly (after editing) pdf version while restore car.

 

so leads questions. have idea of how several of steps, i'll throw questions out anyway appealing professionals out there. please gentle me, i'm great cars, not computers, lol.

 

by way, using acrobat x pro.

 

1. pages little bit skewed 1 way or other, i'd them straightened up. have handle on how this, wonder if changes want make should done in specific order. so, should deskew first?

 

2. how can crop pages standard 8.5x11 , zoom in on pages bit when printed appear standard size? issue feel confused by. i'm having difficulty finding answers these questions.

2a. cropping/resizing overly distort images or text?

2b. can distortion offset?

2c. how margins come play in resizing?

 

3. how scan document , convert searchable text?

 

i guess thats it. @ appreciated.

maybe else know how fix asking about. personally, i've never been successful fixing awkward pdf files these-as suspected, problem introduced when file created. when want nicer print version of pages big blank space these, go kinkos , print out large pages on 11x17 paper, have them cut down me. if you'd rather spend time restoring cars futzing software, might work too.
