Thread: 10.04 boot from disc blackSOD imac g4

assistance here? guide me right forum? new macs

trying install 10.04 on ilamp g4: 1g, 512 mhz, 80 g hd.

when booting cd, can hear disc spinning, ubuntu boot sound, , have black nothing on screen. no rainbow sparkles, no flashes, dead screen.

booting normal fine, no problems in os x

same disc installed fine on a similar model had 800mhz processor, 1 year older. forums graphics card can cause screen problems, total blackout before anything? if so, how tweak without being able linux prompt, etc.

nice.

since osx boots, may not resolution, had similar problems g4 cube "back in day". worked me reset pram holding down option, "open apple", p , r keys upon start-up , keeping them depressed until chimes rang second time.

other ideas: obtain alternate install iso same site (sounds booting "live cd") downloaded current iso, check md5sum, burn cd-r @ slow speed, see if boots black , white rudimentary yaboot display on screen.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
