Thread: After partition resize, I can't login to ubuntu


hello, running ubuntu 10.10 on 250 gb hdd. choosed @ installation install on 1 partition(it recommended beginners). unfortunately have use windows 7 too. didn't want format drive used gparted resize 250 gb partition. so, resized it, made 65 gb one(ntfs primary), installed windows 7 upon restart boots automatically windows 7. can't see ubuntu. did try press shift many times bring grub nothing. can in situation?


i'm waiting suggestion. please tell me if need other info.

hi there, welcome uf. first up, boot ubuntu live cd, run bootinfo script (in signature), , post results here. clear boot situation is, , make prescribing solution easier

happened windows overwrote grub ms mbr. should try reinstalling grub live cd. this thread should help.
