Thread: Font Trouble, or symptom of something worse?

hello- here's problem:
after noob-bumbling around hours trying ubuntu boot, found had corrupted super-blocks, , had fsck fix them me, looked involved overwriting quite few files. news, able update grub2 , ubuntu boot. bad news, default font squares. squares everywhere.

fortunately can read browser's font, , i've tried installing , reinstalling different fonts, nothing's worked (although there's chance didn't install anything, because dialog boxes give me choices in boxes...).
-so i'm new
-i can't read can type verbatim
-don't know if bigger out of order here.

appreciated! thanks.
