Thread: Why port 6600 error mediatomb and mpd

greetings,

have noticed error while booting 10.04 server. have mpd , mediatomb both installed , working. noticed mediatomb little slow while using wireless device... not sure if junk device, slow server, or if error has slow perf.

boot.log
code:
 * starting apparmor profiles [ ok ] * starting music player daemon mpd [ ok ] * starting upnp media server mediatomb listen: bind '0.0.0.0:6600' failed: address in use (continuing anyway, because binding '[::]:6600' succeeded)
i can't find documentation related mediatomb , port 6600.

sudo lsof -i :6600
code:
command pid user fd type device size/off node name mpd 833 mpd 4u ipv6 3719 0t0 tcp *:6600 (listen)
i realize error may superficial, i'm still learning , why occurs.

i don't have experience mpd or mediatomb, seems odd me you're using ipv6 on home network.

maybe if disable ipv6 support mpd, things run faster (i believe site ipv6 enabled default).

thought.
regards.
