i need using formuals analyze data in responses across row instead column.  example, use countnum function , works across few cells, stops calculating @ point though continue include cells want included.

here problem having in bit more detail:

in view responses area, have been attempting use summary row tool calculate data acoss row rather column.  trying tally total number of numeric responses , average among responses each form submitted.  example, use following formula:

=countnum(a1,b1,b2) , return correct response.  however, if include couple dozen or cells, returns incorrect value.  happens no matter formula use.  choose cells formula, highlight on table if program recognizes them, tally still incorrect.
