How to roll an edit past the minimum duration point?
this basic rolling edit question, haven't been able find answer on of forums here or on creative cow.
let's have 3 clips in timeline, a, b , c in order. want roll end of clip way beginning of clip c, eliminating clip b entirely. when try this, premiere attempts save me eliminating clip b entirely, stopping roll 1 frame shy of rolling end of clip clip c, telling me have reached minimum duration of clip b. in other words, it's preserving 1 frame of clip b thinking can't possibly want eliminate it.
i understand it's kind of built-in safety feature stop me before accidentally remove clip in timeline , fine if once stops me can pause moment , "second" roll finish original goal, seems rolling tool firm in philosophy won't eliminate clip in timeline rolling on it. leave 1 frame.
this may not seem large issue, other editors (avid , fcp 7) seem allow me roll way wish to, although may have stop moment confirm want keep rolling through end of clip b.
the 2 ways achieve i'm trying in premiere seem be, 1) remove clip b timeline before performing roll last frame of first frame of c, or 2) rolling end of last frame of b won't let me roll further, deleting last frame of b , continuing roll of head of clip c. both work, seems there must more elegant way fewer keystrokes , mousing.
any thoughts before add wish list? missing fundamental?
thank you.
