Outlook2010 restricted after Flash update
this morning flash player , air updated. installed (which later uninstalled) google browser , toolbar. when click on link in outlook2010 email instead of webpage opening in ie9 message stating "this operation hs been canceled due restrictions in effect on computer. please contact system administrator". computer , system administrator. yesterday did not have problem!
what need do/reset correct problem?
i spent 2 hours on myself. problem chrome uninstalls sloppily , requires registry editing fix it. here's fix found website:
""this operation has been cancelled due restrictions in effect on computer.
... may need change htm/html association in registry.
- start, click run, type regedit in open box, , click ok.
- browse hkey_current_user\software\classes\.html
- right click value .html key , select modify...
- change value "chromehtml" "htmlfile" (or firefoxhtml htmlfile)
repeat these steps htm , .shtml keys if exist. may want check xhtml , xhtm keys.""
i had change every value in registry location said "chromehtml" "htmlfile" , there few.
if you're not keen on regedit, read can try reinstalling chrome, use default programs control panel reset default browser ie or whatever before uninstalling.
bottom line: adobe needs fix this. should not automatically install chrome (or anything) without user consent. that's bad form.
