Thread: 11.04 manual partitioner - can not enter mount point

i installing 11.04 on test pc. standard drive layout, developed on many years , many distros follows:

sda1 /
sda2 /home
sda3 swap
sda4 /data

/ , /home relatively small. put data files on /data facilitate hot backup of important data drive or machine. / , /home periodically cold backed g4l. said...

noticed install partitioner in 11.04 allows me select list of mount points. / home var etc. can not type in mount point of liking have done since started using ubuntu 6.4.

canonical's idea of improvement?

ken

yes can manually format /data partition after install , add /etc/fstab. still give canonical 3 thumbs down on enhancement.

p.s. above seems moot point installer refuses install boot loader. have filed bug report. makes no difference if partition disk manually or allow installer partition defaults. if ain't broke, break it.

it's bug crept in late fixed before final release, , noticed @ last moment. workaround open text editor while installer running, type in mountpoint, copy clipboard, right-click on mountpoint field , paste.

i've used live desktop iso several times install natty , has not yet failed install bootloader. suggest check md5sum of iso using , if using cd rather usb, go text menu of live session @ startup , disc integrity check.
