Thread: ACPI Issue, can't get CPU temps or voltages in OS

so still new ubuntu know little. have been trying acpi readouts in linux few days , can not figure out. have installed lm-sensors , reads out no sensors found. if sensors-detect, runs through , spits out
driver `k10temp':
* chip `amd family 10h thermal sensors' (confidence: 9)

warning: required module k10temp not installed
on system. if built kernel it's ok.
otherwise, check http://www.lm-sensors.org/wiki/devices for
driver availability.

no modules load, skipping modules configuration.

unloading i2c-dev... ok
i did install of k10temp gave me temperature reading of pci card (i don't have 1 in). there no other readouts. don't remember how found powernow-k8 installed on computer. able read cpu temp , such while linux running, appreciated. sure have left things out majority of has been done. oh, bios date , far know has correct settings acpi.

specs:
mobo: msi 880gma-e45
cpu: amd athlon ii x4 640
hd: 1.0 tb western digital caviar blue, 250 gb western digital caviar blue
ram: 8gb g.skill 1600 ddr3
ubuntu: 10.04 64-bit
kernel: linux 2.6.32-32-generic

thanks, matt

what mean "did , install of k10temp"?

looks reason, ubuntu kernels built without driver.
