Thread: Nautilus Is Slow And Dysfunctional

i'm not 1 name-calling nautilus sucks, plain , simple. compared windows explorer in windows 7, , know because dual boot, frustratingly slow. these reasons wanting alternative:


  1. it slower load content upon opening. can physically see content loading upon opening
  2. thumbnails display @ 400% (not sure that's 400% of)
  3. when zooming 400% thumbnails load in single column loads of wasted white space either side
  4. i can't make thumbnails bigger 400%
  5. in 11.04 can't open multiple instances of home folder clicking on home menu. why? how do this? (i realise isn't nautilus issue wanted throw 1 in there)
  6. when trying re-rank date modified, doesn't display latest file modified @ top. unsure date modified not rank content latest accessed file first.
  7. when uploading images flickr, or other service involves opening upload window, not able view files in thumbnail mode, pointless , frustrating when dealing photographs.

sure not alone in having these problems , hear either alternative nautilus or solution these problems. no doubt fanboys reply telling me wrong , linux better windows i'm afraid experience, powerful i5 processor, finding nautilus frustratingly slow. @ same time i'm having positive experience windows explorer in w7.

tips? in advance.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
