Thread: Replacing Fedora on a current dual boot

hi everyone,

have dual boot win 7 / fedora 14 on dell inspiron 1546.

after being unable upgrade f15 think it's time try different ubuntu 11.04

i'd format linux partitions, install ubuntu there , being able boot win 7 grub (just fedora).

can go ahead , install usual, or there else should consider?

think ubuntu have problem finding win7?

thanks.

should easy.

1. pop in live cd/usb , boot it, check works ok.

2. double click on "install ubuntu" icon.

3. when "prepare disk" page choose final option, "something else". let see current partitions, delete ones want rid of , install space.

4. consider making new separate /home partition if don't use 1 helpful when re-install os. separate home @ install.

5. grub2 placed on mbr of first disk sda default , find windows install, , should offer choice when boot.
