Thread: Slow response with Apache remotely, fast locally

i'm running ubuntu 10.10 desktop, 64-bit.

i've had issue year; rebuilt machine , issue persisted across fresh install.

on local machine, requests fast, on remote machines (like windows machine on desk here), requests delayed (firefox status tab says "waiting %hostname%") 5 seconds. doesn't matter if it's php page or static html page. resources images may delayed 5 or seconds, , requests come in @ once (for example if there multiple images they'll appear @ once). if request page right away come immediately, if wait bit, there delay again.

i've tried adding dns name hosts file , connecting ip -- no change.

web server under no load, use web development , i'm person ever access it.

i've been getting by testing on server rather on windows machine unless need @ ie-specific issue. seems difficult issue troubleshoot, haven't been interested in messing around before now.

running top, can see there no load on server.

running tail -f /var/log/apache2/access.log, can see requests added log @ same moment resources load on page.

googling around other people having issue, came unresolved thread seems identical problem:

accessing , updating files on machine via samba causes no delays.

suggestions on things try?

update: did capture on windows machine wireshark, , request happened 5.007846 seconds before 200 response, , 200 response gets added access.log. seems 5 second number not accident.

issue .htaccess file. renamed (so wouldn't load) , page loaded instantly. narrowed down specific rules that, deleting them, remove delays. rules were:

#deny 110.88.0.0/14
# chinese scrapers faked ua 050911

yes, literally 2 comments causing delay.

.htaccess strange beast.

PProHeadless.exe has stopped working error when opening projects in Adobe Media Encoder CS6

hi, upgraded adobe cloud cs6 , having problems adobe media encoder cs 6 (version 6.0.1.31 64-bit).   when try add adobe premiere projects in ame, gives me following error:   pproheadless.exe has stopped working   i tried rebooting, , still gives me same error.  project load, won't.   the premiere projects contain h.264 .mov file coming canon t2i.  added overlay logo bottom right of video created in adobe after effects, contains text, no effects, no motion, etc.  have .wav file recorded zoom h4n, not always.  edit in adobe audition remove noise feature.   i running on windows 7 ultimate 64-bit.  i'm using i7 16gb ram , ati 6870 video card.   i have lut buddy plugin installed.   it give me error first time try load project, , connection dynamic link server fail.  afterwards, if try load project again, if restart ame, stays stuck in connecting dynamic link server...   any provide appreciated. what happens when drag , a...
