Thread: Virtual Box 4.0.8 - Bridged Networking crashes host (kernel 2.6.38-10)

hello everyone!
have ubuntu 10.10 host running in virtualbox 4.0.8 r71778, , need setup ldap authentication network between 2 vm's: maverick-based distro , ubuntu server 11.04.

screenshot of 2 running fine:

using nat, can have 2 vm's , running on vbox, same ip (10.0.2.15).
googled , found out needed change vm's network interfaces bridged networking. tried that.
here's 2 screenshots of default configurations:

1- ubuntu maverick based distro:

2- , here 1 of ubuntu server:

(i'm portuguese, that's why there mixed languages in ui)

it's pretty stupid explain this, whenever try start 1 of 2 using bridged networking, black screen full of errors (i can't take printscreen of that, took bunch of pictures - yeah, it's lame, know ). then, have press power button shut down host, , restart pc.
here are:

part 1- http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/4476/cimg2279p.jpg
part 2 - http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/6481/cimg2280.jpg

think problem is:

host running linux kernel 2.6.38-10.
have dkms, linux-header-generic , build-essentials installed (and vb extension package too)
, host laptop, connecting internet using router isp provided me.

how can solve this? kind of bug regarding 2.6.38-10 kernel?
don't have other pc's test ldap authentication, needed 2 vm's have different ip's.

in advance

just thought (lame workaround)
1 bridged , 1 using nat
