Adding custom fields to the article component - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i've added custom fields article component using documentation in following url:

now adds custom fields defined every new , existing article. there way define custom fields specific article layout overrides.

example:

if have custom layouts category blog, (news, portfolio, events) can define different custom fields each category when creating new article?

you not able that, because create new article , assign category after only.

so articles independent while creating new. guess clarifies query.
