ai files with links wont load when mapped drives change

this 1 has eluded me since 2007. hopeing out there knows solution better 1 came with.

 

here's situation...our company has 3 offices, when artist in office 2 needs work on files person in office 1 created. sysn folders there local server , work.  problem when there links in files. when try open these files illustrator hangs. not hangs, i'm going cup coffee hangs, hangs faster me redraw sorta hangs. appears illustrator trying connect server in office 1 , cant find it. solution have been able come disconnect internet cable computer. works great. files load in no time flat. have tried upmapping networked drives not trying download files on vpn, not solve problem. solution have come old cable pull. pain.

 

hopefully ese has come across before. not new problem illustrator. i've known since 2007. hopeing out there has better solution pulling internet cable.

it's not advisable open files directly server. read according tech note.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
