CF9 IIS 7.5 Setting up Application Problem

i running cf 9.0 enterprise edition running on windows 2003 server r2 sp2 converting cf 9.0.2 enterprise edition running on windows server 2008 r2 sp1 iis 7.5.

i able install , configure cfadmin without issue.

my problem when try , access web application (which resides within same directory structure cfide folder).  know not permissions issue - wouldn't able administrator.

i have web application or custom code set 'application' apposed virtual directory.  when try access application via website, receive following error:

500 - internal server error.

there problem resource looking for, , cannot displayed.

, in iis, under application, go edit application, basic settings, try 'test settings' get:

there , error while performing operation. details:  invalid application path.

which know wrong.  , know permissions correct.  i've followed many instructions regarding application pool settings , .net without success.

i did see on 1 of blogs noted needed virtual directory under application - wasn't needed in previous versions.  haven't been able confirm either.

i revert iis 6.0 manager, i'd have have re-installed (they installed , made operational smtp server).

any ideas?  i've spent 20 hours working on . . .

thanks.

i think root of troubles.   i'm not sure why set .net application in iis point cf app, start deleting iis "application" have set up, place top level folder of cf app directly beneath c:\inetpub\wwwroot in file system (or wherever iis website pointed if not default location), , start there.  maybe run cf wsconfig tool again after you've removed .net stuff iis config.
