how do i change the (primary) external editing preference after it has been initially set?

it set photoshop cs4, have uninistalled.

i have, of course, added "additional" external editor preference choosing photoshop cs6.

lr chooses it´s own primary editor based on registry entries on windows , preference files on mac.

generally default newest version of photoshop, , if can’t find photoshop, it’ll use photoshop elements instead.

if photoshop open, ignore it´s own preference , use open version instead
