Photoshop CS6 Crashes Constantly

photoshop has started crashing me in both 64 bit , 32 bit versions; windows says stopped working.  tried reinstalling photoshop, uninstalling fonts (i had quite few , noticed slowed down photoshop after installing them, didn't crash @ time), testing various settings in performance tab, updating graphics drivers (and after beta drivers).  have not experienced crashes in other cs6 applications.  when constantly, mean every time go use it, crashes whenever start doing things, move tool , resizing, within seconds of launch.  it's frustrating, , unusable.  started week, wonder if triggered it.  i've had creative cloud month , didn't have problems until now.  system should more capable of handling photoshop.

 

another odd thing happened ps gave me notice couldn't use gpu hardware acceleration.  after weeks of using it, don't know if ever enabled, or decided tell me now. in case, in performance tab says "photoshop detected error in display driver. update or reinstall driver , check use graphics processor retry." of course, tried reinstalling drivers no avail. not have option check box.  not sure if related @ all.  hadn't used photoshop before noticed started crashing perhaps new driver caused it.

ram: 16 gb mushkin 1600 mhz, 7 timing

ssd: samsung 830 series ssd, 256 gb

gpu: ati radeon hd 5870 series + nvidia 9800 gt

mb: gigabyte ga-890fxa-ud5

os: windows 7 home premium 64bit

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
