Thread: changing boot partition

many moon ago installed maverick. did creating new partition, , installing root on that, , pointed /home previous home partition. worked (except having re-install lots of apps).

wish re-claim space used partition contained 'old' os. partition original natty install, , still marked 'boot' partition.

suspect if remove old partition system not boot up.

questions these: can use gpart flip boot flags partition? need re-configure grub2 if this? there mbr needs moved?

advice appreciated.

in way partition marked boot partition? boot flag, or shown /boot?
