Thread: Graphical Errors within Ubuntu - ATI

hi,
first post , second day using ubuntu , have got liking school , work. having graphical errors though. first off let me give system spec know working with.

amd x6 3.8ghz
8gb ram
hd radeon 6950
asus m4a79xtd evo mobo
1920x1080 display
x32 ubuntu

have recent ati drivers installed.
whenever minimize program, leaves little graphic traces of program second before disappearing.
whenever moving window around mouse slow lag, same when moving edge re-size. (but speed normal when clicking minimize or re-size button, besides graphical errors when minimizing)
also, whenever change graphic setting in compiz, top menu bar tweaks out , distorts can't read (but can still guess , click , menu drop-downs still appear) , have log out , in fix self.

hi first lets fix broke changing settings in compiz, click on reset unity , compiz , reset unity then, if still having lag post , have fix that, can tell how change effects in compiz without messing things up, lets 1 step @ time.
