Thread: Messed up fstab


hi guys.

well, newbe, sure out there laughing pants off on trouble brought myself in.

trying mount network drives, found post:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/mountwindowssharespermanently

, thought home free. tried said, apparently messed things big time in process. ubuntu partition starts command line , cant gui , can't edit fstab (i can edit file using editor, can't save (even after starting editor sudo). if can start gui can find way through mess have created. why oh why start command line?

can guide me on way.

hi, if did edit fstab , failed - boot recovery mode - second ubuntu option.

it'll take small menu - choose root, no need network. edit file cli editor

nano /etc/fstab

undo changes - save file ctrl+x, y, enter.

type reboot , enter
