Thread: SD card size reported incorrectly

hi everyone,

i'm having problem 256 mb sd card i'm using ubuntu. believe created problem when emptied card , used dd copy binary image onto it. now, can't seem recover space that image taking (about 11 mb).

gparted reports card being 238.5 mb in size, if "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/mmcblk0", dd reports wrote 250mb (250085376 bytes) device (which expect). gparted gives me warning when information on card: "/dev/mmcblk0: unrecognized disk label". i'm not sure if has it.

have ideas?

thanks!

also, given it's 256mb, make aged, it's entirely possible card on it's last legs.
