Thread: Touchpad help (external touchpad)

hello.

have got hold of touchpad, it's , old 1 drivers windows 95/98 thought i'd have go , see if can working.

connects serial port (9 pin) have plugged in nothing happening, know works because tried on windows 7 see happen , installed driver (generic input device driver) , touchpad worked fine.

in ubuntu nothing, , honest i'm not sure how proceed, tried using xinput list didn't see thought might touchpad.

would worth getting adapter ? serial usb or 1 of serial ps/2 adapters , see if works ?

can't give info on touchpad other appears made " fine art tech " haven't been able find out them, it's called " icon touchpad " has 3 buttons, left click, right click , think might scroll button or / forwards button. should used stylus seems work fine if use fingers (like laptop)

know isn't life threatening see if it's possible work on ubuntu.

i'm running natty 64bit, unity (i'm 1 of few seems it)

anyway if has pointers i'd appreciate help.

update got hold of adapter go serial ps/2 figuring might work mouse on ubuntu , nothing, i'm going little more research.
