Thread: Wi-fi dead?

hello,

i'm having trouble wi-fi connection. machine in question gateway p-6831 fx.

installed 11.04 (replacing 10.04) , browsing/downloading software needed when wireless stopped working. wi-fi light turned off, , seems can't wireless anymore.

laptop comes wireless switch, , it's on. turning off makes blue-tooth icon go away, once on icon returns no wi-fi whatsoever.

ran following: "sudo lshw -html > your-file-name.html" , wi-fi card detected outlined in pink.
