InDesign 5.5 crashes on PDF export

hello,

 

i having problem file- it's presentation , has been created in indesign 5.5. file functioning correctly, no errors, no bad links etc.

 

we present file on-screen pdf exported on high quality print setting pdf export menu. when choose option background task takes over, indesign crashes , pdf corrupted.

so far have tried

1, exporting imdl - opening imdl , exporting pdf (crashed)

2, opening file (opened , exported fine)

3, restarting , trying process again (same result)

4, copied files locally , tried again .indd , .imdl (same result both times)

5, asked designer running 5.0 open imdl file (he of linked .indd files (letterheads, brochures etc) unreadable - opened file , exported fine - file missing linked .indd documents.

 

any appreciated, need present file client soon.

by trial , error seem have located 4 pages in placed file causing crash. placed file has effects (outer glow , drop shadow) applied, , file has more effects when placed in presentation (drop shadow).

 

anyone had issues before, beginning suspect effects acusing crash.

 

work-around solution far export pages (up offending four) pdf, export 4 pages pdf, export pages remaining pdf. open pdf files , combine them.

 

just in ase else has issue , needs quick , dirty patch up. sigh…

 

also, trying download , install 7.5.3 update = nightmare. adobe updater won't run file (claims there update running, there isn't) downloaded dmg directly - can't mount it!

 

disappointing.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
