Lightroom 3.6 slide module crashes - XP SP3

lightroom 3.6

windows xp 32-bit sp3

dell dimension 4600

intel pentium 4 2.8 ghz

3.0 ghz ram (4 g installed - xp uses 3)

 

2 350 gb western digital hard drive

c drive system , programs

d drive data

 

external 500 gb g-tech drive lightroom catalog , photos(usb 2.0)

 

64 mb nvidia quadra nvs agp8x. (i run 2 monitors. changed display settings 1 display no difference in results.)

 

i selected 19 starred photos in library module. (jpeg's approx 2.5 mb each). when try preview in slide show module or go window-->impromptu slide show, screen goes black , computer restarts. no error messages.

have updated graphics card driver direct nvidia?  graphics card issues cause of slideshow playback issues, although computer restart sounds there may hardware issue.  power supply beefy enough?  overheating perhaps?

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
