Text Filters, Exact Match and "Folder" Metadata

greetings oh wise masses!

i've been fumbling around following, , frustration level getting high, that's me. in lr 4.1, mac os 10.7.4

here's tale, maybe can come solution, partial solution, sympathy, or divine guidance... @ least may else.

so, have smart collection i'm trying create. 1 of criteria want use is: "only photos folder 'my photo shoot'".  assuming folder metadata single image "my photo shoot", alas wrong.  appears "/volumes/photo disk/images/photoshoots/my photo shoot/nameofimage.dng".  that's conclusion hovering cursor on folder metadata field in library view... that's appears.

ok, part of problem... if folder metadata was "my photo shoot", there's doesn't seem way in text filter specify exact match (as aside, documentation seems insist "contains all" exact match.  nope.  sorry.  it's not. seems "and" of each token in search string). so, first suggest/request might listening is... can have option "is" added string metadata comparisons?  know, real exact match?  if there such thing, please enlighten me.

to summarize @ point, have questions/issues:

  1. is there way "exact match" in text filter?  searching forums implies way might eliminate spaces whatever metadata you're searching.  seems bad limitation.
  2. what in folder metadata?  testing implies file name isn't part of folder metadata, is in it?  hovering on folder metadata show full path , file name. using exiftool on .dng file directly didn't show any folder metadata, lr must creating/deriving it.

now, "meta" question (pun intended) is:  possible me create smart collection of members contained in specific, existing,  folder?

i know, future, there other ways that, believe require forethought before importing photos.

any help/ideas/inspiration/support provide appreciated.  let me know if i've written needs clarification (it's clear me... knows if makes sense else?)

thanks!!!!!!

you started off talking trying create smart collection, switched talking text filter. it?  happens when use smart collection criteria "folder>contains all>my photo shoot"? i've created folder name, put 6 photos in it, created smart collection criteria , found 6 photos, , 6 photos. expected. happens when try that?

btw, text filter returns same 6 photos when using criteria "any searchable field>contains all>my photo shoot".
