Thread: Can't load ubuntu
hi,
i've looked through forums trying see if else had problem didn't find information looking for. have been using ubuntu awhile now. have older pc dedicated ubuntu , run 11.04 32-bit no problem, , previous versions well. got new hardware , assembled , wanted make dual boot win7. found information , got working thought. peaches , cream until install finished. long long message appeared read errors drive (i think swap partition guess), appearing , disappearing fast read, don't know trying tell me aside "read error". after the message said remove media , restart now. did, booted windows, modified bsd boot ubuntu or windows, grub2 loader , select ubuntu. when goes awry, dont loading screen singular purple screen, if press key, starts flash, , every subsequent key press cause flash faster.
can run livecd (64-bit 11.04) no problems, win7-64 (currently post message). cant ubuntu load. deleted , reformatted partitions i'm using , reinstalled same problem.(/boot,swap,/(root) , /home) under windows management listed healthy(ext4 -- except swap, primary -- except swap logical , set beginning).
guess question cause problem? settings install, bios, or else? system specs asus mobo, amd phenom2 hexcore, 4gigs ram, 2 ati radeon crossfired, 2 tb hd , 40 gig ssd.
appreciated
thanks!
