Thread: HP Pavilion DV6000, wireless card doesn't work with Ubuntu


hi, all. newbie here. please forgive me if i'm asking on covered elsewhere. i've been searching , coming short. i'm brand new ubuntu, never having worked linux before. pc user life. looking @ computer first time me.

anyway, installed ubuntu on older hp pavilion dv6000 laptop. wireless card worked fine before when using windows 7. ubuntu installed, couldn't work. when go system settings , "additional drivers", tells me broadcom sta wireless driver "is activated , in use." light amber, switch (slide on/off) doesn't anything, , [obviously] no wireless networks can detected.

can ubuntu dummy?
