Thread: Noob...Help please

hello all,

i'm not hardcore user, computer lingo misunderstood. appreciated. i'm not horrible computers, don't know ton code,etc.

i've had windows of life , want change 5 year old vaio ubuntu. i've downloaded 11.04 , made usb drive, ubuntu.com website says do.

i've changed bios settings , computer booting usb drive. when boots, click enter on choice says install ubuntu on hard drive. goes through code, etc goes ubuntu logo , looks it's working.

goes through more code, , stops keeps going again, , stops once more. i've waited here pretty long time , last 3 lines say:

busybox v1.17.1 (ubuntu 1:1.17.1-10ubuntu1) built-in shell (ash)
enter 'help' list of built-in commands.

(initramfs)

i'm not sure do.

please

i don't want sit around, i'll try go cd route instead.


i'll post if have more questions.

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
