Joomla on windows servers or linux servers? - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi guys , ive asked several questions here , of have been helpful , knowledge highly valued.

i have been having lots of problems site www.bocahydro.com can take peek yourself.

i have godaddy hosting account , set on windows server.

two nights ago hosting monitoring service sent me 7 crash , recover emails , got 5 more last night.

i sent email them , told me im trying use php editing software on windows server , thats causing problems.

when tracert site timeout told me local internet problem in north florida.

my question , software talking , installed joomla extplorer it? other extension have jcc optomize appeared have helped alot.

i have wordpress on site www.bocahydro.com/wordpress , seems work fine

they told me can change server os linux logging panel , selecting , said databases might not compatabile etc

but,,, have backups obviousley , sql database trashed? have re build site? able migrate , keep database?

is there reason switch linux?

i need pros me please

it's true windows gives problems joomla. instance it's more difficult sef url's working without using .htaccess. had problems too.

why don't try on local linux server?

make backup live server akeeba https://www.akeebabackup.com/ ,
restore backup in local server , can check site on linux server.
it's rough test. thing have backup in case things went wrong on windows server , can test kind of stuff before changing in live website.
