Thread: GRUB Bootup Error
so ubuntu has been working fine me. had latest version (which 11.04) , updated everything. rebooted , worked fine few days.
when trying boot ubuntu error
then 1 more error didn't have time right down , grub console comes up. onecode:try (hd0,0) : ntfs5 : error: "prefix" not set. error: no such device /ubuntu/disks/root.disk

cannot boot ubuntu @ all. have windows 7 professional running along side , works perfectly. installed using latest version of wubi.
ubuntu details -
- one user account only
- that account password protected, yes know password
- i selected 17gb in wubi size.
differant queston. posible have windows 7/ubuntu , kubuntu computer triple booted?

need do:
when computer starts , see entry ubuntu press "c" drop grub prompt (the 1 posted image of).
enter these commands , post output here:
after type "reboot" , go windows.code:search -s -f -n /ubuntu/disks/root.disk echo $root
in windows, make backup copy of root.disk , place somewhere safe external medium (usb stick etc.).
once have output of commands above, can proceed.
