Thread: Recovery mode gets stuck

i trying boot recovery mode in ubuntu 10.04 netbooks every time try never makes past black screen scrolling white words. stops @ "usb 1-2: configuration #1 chosen 1 choice." never goes screen blue box put password in , choose fix packages or anything. stops , know because regular program wont boot either , freezes when log in screen. please? have heard need cd or usb dont know program need on , have tried one. however, options gave me install ubuntu or try it.

please mention model no , hardware specs of netbook. ubuntu 10.04 working on earlier?

'regular program', think mean regular booting mode of ubuntu.

again, mean 'which operating system' (or version of ubuntu) - right?

so, version did try gave 2 options (to try or install), , how did try it? through usb key, or through usb cd drive?
have important data on netbook has saved before formatting if required?

meanwhile, possible temporary workaround - try disabling usb in netbook's bios if can figure out, , see if booting completes without errors.
