Thread: Torrent downloading in Ubuntu 11.04 causes unstable wireless transfer
every time download torrents in ubuntu 11.04 on desktop, using transmission or deluge clients, wireless transfer speed abruptly drops off, becomes choppy, , in general doesn't remain stable. it's not torrent download slows down, it's including web surfing, though i'm not maxing out connection speed. it's not i'm getting disconnected router, it's wireless transfer speed drops off, becomes intermittent, , never gets full speed.
@ first thought isp throttling connection, issue doesn't happen direct cable connection router, nor did happen when running ubuntu 10.04 before. doesn't happen when i'm downloading exact same torrents on wireless using netbook running ubuntu netbook remix. issue seems happen when using bittorrent client while on wireless on ubuntu 11.04 on desktop. can max out internet connection speed streaming videos, downloading ftp, etc. using wireless fine, , transfer speed remains stable. seems happen couple of different wireless usb adapters (rt73usb or rtl8187 drivers) i'm not sure if it's specific driver issue.
i'm @ loss here file bug report. has else noticed this?
is problem resolved if disconnect power router reconnect it? if so, need reduce number of simultaneous connections torrent client using.
