i've been able site looking (almost) way want to, it's been long road. current struggle article lists. use feature showing site news, information, , use list product data , such. problem is, site allow users create new articles , can't figure out how make option go away. at end of each of article lists, "new" icon appears. here's screenshot: cpv0j.png if go menu options --> article options, can set "show icons" "hide". replace little page icon word "new". i don't want deal user registration on site @ all. there's no need it. information publicly viewable, i don't want able create new articles. i've tinkered global settings, setting create privilege (and pretty else) deny public group, icon won't go away. i've been told icon there if i'm logged in super user. fine, suppose, learned of problem when friend reviewing site me. there no login form on site anywhere way log in through /administrator page...

hi... need joomla guru! i have large site lots of users access admin panel. super user , administrator group admin panel runs fast, users @ sub admin levels (manager, publisher) admin panel slow open or save article. from research, find admin panel runs on sessions. ever see on server 6-7 concurrent sessions, figure sessions showing go 1 user group, not actual user. , because there lots of people in sub admin levels, maybe combined on server in 1 session server slower load , respond. i experimented , made user group , put 1 user in it. seemed speed when creating or saving article. can explain if did correct or there sessions and/or server connections, missing? in advance! i not post because ubuntu has been wonderfully simple , stable use. installed 11.04 , not overly thrilled unity. however, softening , decided give week or month trial before go 1 way or other. there 1 annoyance cannot seem solve , use with. clock in top bar (task, notify, indicator, context, whatever want call it) shows gmt time. can add other timezones , show on menu when click on clock, clock remains gmt. tried logging in , out give chance. still gmt. in terminal, date command returns correct local time , date -u returns time in top bar. so, how make clock show local time? figure ccms parameter needs editing, not obvious one. tried couple, none of them did anything. it got fixed in update when not paying attention it. hello ubuntu users. i've been away long time ubuntu (have been using arch linux) came due stability ubuntu offers. i've been gnome fan , gnome shell super fan! although unity , shell share lot of common things, find shell bit more modern due fact uses gtk3 , lot more flexible (due javascript , css). of course unity great! want make unity totally personal (been doing every de). 1. although removed global menu, when maximize window, close, minimize, maximize buttons still on upper bar , not on window bar. there anyway fix this? 2. through ubuntu tweak (and other tools) i've made launcher smaller , transparent. want make launcher present *only* icons , not dark background. think that's possible? 3. in gnome 2 able alter size of 2 bars of de. unfortunately, not possible in unity. i'd make upper bar bit bigger. possible? sum up, believe unity great project, needs offer bit more customization. thank responses. ...

apologies if there thread on this, didn't find in searches.   i create video ads streamed players (made of pc , plasma monitor) displayed inside local businesses.  changed software load on pcs (3mds.com) display these videos , while multiple file formats supported, preferred format .swf.  have built ads within after effects (cs5) , created .avi's, there issues .avi , new software. so, have been creating .flv files ae, importing flash, exporting .swf there.  when import .flv file flash (cs4), images great, when export .swf, become pixellated.  have been told best way create new software build ads directly in flash, not versed in flash yet. videos graphics , text animated.  graphics degrade little in .swf files, text bad.   is there way retain quality of video when exporting .swf?  there specific export settings in after effects can use help?  or going have learn flash?   thanks in advance chris don't import flv files flash.  loose ...

hi- i want make sure going correctly. i have page need have logged in members (protected). (so unique username , password sets 1 up). i have set new menu item menu item type of "login form" when navigate new "page" form , links 'forgot password?', 'forgot username?', 'don't have account?' show correctly. far good. i created login redirect menu item in advanced settings. things go awry. how can redirect page not associated menu item? i'm trying understand how use ntfsundelete , hope in forum can provide guide. have ntfs partition, mounted on machine along ubuntu. when delete on partition , run ntfsundelete, cannot see deleted file. can find inode number , ntfsundelete can locate way. if don't know inode number of file i'm trying restore, i'm not sure how info. there lot of other files ntfsundelete returns filename, if create file on ntfs partition , delete linux, ntfsundelete not return filename in it's scan list. have knowledge on this? anyone have experience ntfsundelete? i downloaded newest ubuntu. having hard time getting pidgin work. when go application-> internet, , click on pidgin, pops empty buddy list says "you have no accounts enabled. enable im accounts accounts window @ accounts =>manage accounts . once enable accounts, you'll able sign on, set status, , talk friends." there no options on window. so...i don't know go manage accounts, set status, etc... appreciated. in 11.04, menu hidden in top right of screen. hover mouse cursor on says "pidgin internet messenger" see menu.
