i have 4 identical cf cards. 2 of them when plugged card reader on computer open pse downloader fine. other 2 when plugged card reader nothing. downloader not open. if place these 2 cards in camera or external card reader connect thru usb port pse downloader opens fine.   can tell me why happening , how can fix able plud cards computer's card reader directly? problem cards, card reader on computer or maybe settings? have cards been formatted in camera? hi all,   lightroom 4.1 / mountain lion   settings image sizing: resize fit - long edge - 960 pixels - 300ppi - don´t enlarge   portrait results: width_640 x height_960 landscape results: width_1440 x height_960 lowering ppi 240 results in dimensions coming out right   a fellow photographer tested same on windows 7 , gets expected results.   i saw appears same issue in thread april 2011, thread died without solution.   is bug in mac version? does have ppi , lr4.1 doing right? i tested settings , mac (snow leopard) gives expected results.   1. relaunch lightroom, test. 2. reboot, test.   if 2 don't fix may want consider trashing preferences file , see if clears it. i'm running ubuntu 10.10 desktop, 64-bit. i've had issue year; rebuilt machine , issue persisted across fresh install. on local machine, requests fast, on remote machines (like windows machine on desk here), requests delayed (firefox status tab says "waiting %hostname%") 5 seconds. doesn't matter if it's php page or static html page. resources images may delayed 5 or seconds, , requests come in @ once (for example if there multiple images they'll appear @ once). if request page right away come immediately, if wait bit, there delay again. i've tried adding dns name hosts file , connecting ip -- no change. web server under no load, use web development , i'm person ever access it. i've been getting by testing on server rather on windows machine unless need @ ie-specific issue. seems difficult issue troubleshoot, haven't been interested in messing around before now. running top , can see there no load on se...

i running os x mountain lion, starters. using lr3 , no updates needed. using dng coverter 7.1.0.354   i use nikon d800 , since can not import raw nef files lr3 b/c of camera not being on lr's list (and no, can't upgrade lr4 right now), i've been using dng converter.   today, put camera mac's built in slot on side , tried convert files have been since got camera 2 months ago. time, there 900 images on card, converted 200 , rest says there error converting files.   the images there, can see 'greyed out' file names , can see images in ps bridge. want them lr, though b/c that's of editing...   any help?   thanks in advance! the first thing try use card reader instead of trying download/convert camera. if card reader doesn't solve problem try downloading images hard drive first, , convert. hello, i having bit of trouble lr4.1 (osx) , collections.   i separate projects working on different collections , edit them there, changing method work cf card cf card, on import drop photos 1 card own folder don't mixed etc.   so in library pane , 1 of 4 internal hard drives have shows under 'folders', hit plus symbol add other folders had created , import dialog came , told import files without moving them.   well, somehow, , don't know how or heck happened, of collections empty! , what's worse photos, many hundreds, edited , in collections gone , have original, non-edited versions. hours of past work gone , don't know how or why changed!   can possibly give me bit of info on did wrong? or if there way edited photos in collections?   would opening recent backup possibly bring them back?   i crawl hole of dispair , frustration, awaiting help...heheh   thank in advance! while have no idea did wrong, opening recent backup should restore collections, ...
